Tresillian

What is Tresillian?

Tresillian is Australia’s largest early parenting organisation designed to support families with a newborn, baby or toddler. Services are generally free or covered by Medicare.

As parents, we know how essential sleep is for our babies (and our own) overall well-being. If you’re concerned about your child’s sleep, consider turning to Tresillian. Each year hundreds of thousands of Australian parents call on Tresillian for advice and support.

Tresillian is Australia’s largest early parenting organisation, supporting families with a newborn or child aged up to three years. Parents whose babies struggle with crying, sleeping, and feeding can access Tresillian through Medicare.

Consultations with Nurses are held either at a Tresillian Centre, by telehealth consultation or in the family’s home. Our specialist services are also accessible to families living in remote and rural areas. The Tresillian 2U Mobile Vans visit towns on a rotational basis. Tresillian parent education group facilitated by a Tresillian Nurse connecting local parents with each other and their communities. More complex cases are referred to Tresillian’s Residential Units where families can stay for a 4-night/5-day program. Families receive education about their child’s developmental needs and learn new skills to support their child’s sleep, such as self-settling techniques.

Tresillian’s program are designed to help new parents adjust to parenthood. The services are designed to ensure the well-being of the whole family and offer intensive support around baby’s sleep and settling, breastfeeding and feeding, toddler behaviour and parental wellbeing.

For many families, Tresillian has helped parents to implement strategies and techniques to promote a better routine, schedule, and overall sleeping experience with newborn or baby.

The program is delivered either through a day or residential 4 day/5 night service. And while there is some tailoring involved, it really does depend on the parents and their individual experience.

Tresillian has been of benefit to thousands of Australian families. After the five-day program, families should leave Tresillian with a new skills to encourage healthy sleeping habits and routines. This is enough for some families to handle the sleeping schedules at home, but for other families, they may require more assistance. If they do, Tresillian has follow up services available known as ‘Day Services’ where the family can visit a Tresillian Centre for the Day; or via telehealth.
